ARTIST STATEMENT:
The imagery in my work is by influence of growing up on North Carolina’s coast, and my concepts derive from explorations in how our experiences and environments shape us as individuals. Contrasting layers, textures, and types of materials, I aspire to share with a viewer/wearer of my art the complexities of human nature.
Resources conventionally considered valuable are juxtaposed with those we consider disposable or even trash. Regardless of the piece, from a vessel to a pendant, I endeavor to create an aesthetic that expresses these visceral, internal landscapes.
